IHG Reward Points Change
IHG Rewards Club Members absolutely love their points! They know how to get them, and they know how to redeem them for great free night stays at all their favorite vacation spots – like here at the Holiday Inn Resort! We have so many valued IHG Reward guests that cash in their points with us year after year to take their family on a great vacation, but if you’re planning to come in 2016 you’ll want to make your plans and reserve your stay by February 17th, as IHG is adjusting the number of points it will take to redeem a free night at any hotel by 5,000 points.
“Soon IHG will be adjusting the number of IHG® Rewards Club points needed to redeem a Reward Night at our hotel, well at all hotels. Starting, Feb. 17, 2016 a member will need 5,000 more points for each Reward Night, than they would have in 2015, and because we have so many wonderful guests that come year after year we want to encourage them, and everyone, to make their spring, summer, and fall vacation reservations before the increase so that they can hang on to more of their points – or get more nights for less points.” Says Phyllis Campisi.
IHG® Rewards Club Reward Night points requirements vary by hotel property and are classified per category – such as Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Resorts, but all IHG hotels in each category are going to be 5,000 points higher per reward night for reservations made after February 17th.
“As soon as we received this message from IHG a few days ago we started coming up with an action plan to let as many of our Reward Night guests know as quickly as we could so they could plan their visits and get their reservations made before the point raise happens. We care about all of our guests and want to make sure they are getting the very best value possible, and for those who are big on points, those points are every bit as valuable as money.” Says Campisi.
The Holiday Inn Resort is already planning the line-up of activities and entertainment for this spring and summer, and already has great packages on their website – www.hipcbeach.com – as well. They are hopeful that they will reach many of their IHG Rewards Club Members who have stayed with them year after year on points to let them know about the upcoming change and how they can save points by booking early.
