Hurricane Michael Update
We wanted to send out a letter to all our friends & family and give you an update on where we stand after Hurricane Michael. We also wanted to say thank you for the outpouring of assistance, resources, prayers, love, and support that has not only been helpful but has also given us the strength to move forward. Through your kind words, we see and feel your deep love of our community and your fondness of our beautiful beaches.
The good news is that the beaches of Panama City Beach were spared most of Michael’s fury and have recovered quickly. Our beaches are intact and beautiful, and the Holiday Inn Resort & the Holiday Inn Express & Suites only sustained minor cosmetic damages.
There’s a Difference Between The City & The Beach
Many of our guests are not aware that there is a big difference between Panama City and Panama City Beach. Although Panama City Beach and its businesses were relatively spared, the losses in Panama City were catastrophic. The Holiday Inn in Panama City was heavily damaged by the storm and we will be providing updates as soon as they become available.
We alongside so many others in our community continue to work on helping those that are still affected by the storm.
What You Can Do
Start Planning a vacation to our beautiful beaches. One of the best things you can do to assist all of us in the recovery is to continue to come vacation and bring your friends & families to the beach. By visiting the area, you are providing much-needed support to the thousands of locals that make a living in the tourism trade. Our local workforce is spread out all over the area, some live on the beach and many live in town and the surrounding areas.
Not only does it help our team members, but your decision to vacation in Panama City Beach also brings in much-needed work to the hundreds of restaurants, shops, and outlets across Bay County and beyond.
Fixes and Improvements
In addition to some cosmetic repairs being made to the Holiday Inn Resort and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites that were caused by Hurricane Michael, we are also taking the opportunity to upgrade the rooms at the Holiday Inn Resort. The first phase of our property rejuvenation effort deals with replacing the flooring in all our guest rooms.
Stay tuned for more information on our improvements for the resort as they are all based on your suggestions.
Planning Has Begun
We are already working hard on our plans for next year and are very excited to share that we are bringing back the “Guest Exclusive Concert Series,” and all the other great entertainment you have come to expect from us. In addition, our ever-popular New Year’s Eve Celebration will still take place and we will keep you updated on the array of entertainment we have lined up for the party.
