Panama City Beach Mardi Gras
Laissez les bons temps rouler! Experience an authentic Mardi Gras celebration just steps away from the beautiful beaches and shimmering waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There’s nothing like a Panama City Beach Mardi Gras and Music Festival, which is always held the weekend before Fat Tuesday.
In conjunction with the Krewe of Dominique Youx’s great Mardi Gras at the Beach parade, the festival features entertainment for the whole family. Expect lots of fun street performances, delicious food, live music, and a very family-friendly atmosphere. Kids will have their very own “Kids Zone” with lots of fun activities for kids such as arts & crafts, caricatures, and face painting. Another popular activity is the exciting Costume Contest that is open for both kids and adults.
Meet Me By the Bayou…or the Beach!
Get ready to dance as there is live entertainment throughout the Panama City Beach Mardi Gras. Shake your tail feathers to some of the best Cajun and Creole music on this side of Bourbon Street. The music starts early in the day and runs through the night. Past performers include Vince Vance & the Valiants, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Aaron Neville.
The highlight of the Panama City Beach Mardi Gras is the Float Parade. Pier Park's Main Street becomes the parade route and floats from various Krewes and businesses ride from the beach towards center stage while tossing beads and goodies to the thousands that line the streets. This is a family-friendly parade so make sure that you bring your little ones so they can catch some beads!
As soon as the main parade is over, its time to head down towards the beach to watch the fireworks display that takes place right off the City Pier. It’s a perfect end to a fun and entertaining weekend!
